  Digital Photography Level 1 - Foundation Course

The Digital Photography Level 1 - Beginners Course is made up of 7 separate modules. It is aimed squarely at people who are currently only using Auto Mode, and would like to gently ease themselves into using some simple techniques and buttons that will help improve all of their photographs.

Previous Experience

Most students of this course will have only been using Auto Mode up to this point. The course does not require any prior knowlege of cameras or computers, and does not go into advanced modes such as Manual Mode, or talk about Photoshop or the use of Raw files. This is a photography course that concentrates on the simple things that will help you immediately, without having to become a rocket scientist.

Equipment Required

Any kind of digital camera is suitable for this course including SLRs, Point & Shoot/Compact Cameras and Bridge Cameras (see here for information on the different types).

Course Presenter
The course presenter for this course is fine art photographer, Dave McKane. Dave graduated from the 3 Year Photography Course in Colaiste Dhulaigh, Dublin in 1985, and has over 30 years experience in creative photography. He got his first film SLR in 1982, owned multiple darkrooms, was an early adoption of a scanner (1989), Photoshop (1993), his first digital camera (2002) and Lightroom (2007), he has vast experience in the field of using photography as a creative expressive medium and has held multiple exhibitions of his own photography, mainly in the United States.
